Updates on Lindgren and more before the Carolina game

David Quinn spoke after the morning skate today and said (NYR):

On what Lindgren brings, “he is a guy that has improved his skating, competes hard, can make a good outlet pass. There is a simplicity to his game but his biggest attribute is how he competes shift in and shift out.”

On why Lindgren was called up, “we’ve always felt that he had the best first half. The compete level is part of it but he has been their best defenseman and deserves this opportunity.”

Freddy Claesson is out 2-3 weeks with a shoulder injury.

Lindgren is not just up because of the Claesson injury, he has a chance to stay based upon his play.

The defenseman coming out of the lineup is still TBD based upon how Adam McQuaid is feeling.

Kevin Hayes is feeling much better, will practice tomorrow and could play on Thursday.

Neal Pionk has a lower body injury that he has been battling for a while and likely isn’t going to play before the break.

Henrik Lundqvist is in net.
