From the Rangers press release:

  • Huska appeared in 69 collegiate games over three seasons with the University of Connecticut (2016-17 – 2018-19), posting a 20-38-8 record, along with a 2.90 GAA, a .908 SV%, and 2 SO.
  • Huska made 30 or more saves in 27 of his 69 collegiate appearances (39.1% of his appearances), including 13 of his 21 appearances during his freshman year in 2016-17.
  • He established NCAA career-bests in appearances (27) and GAA (2.59) during his sophomore year in 2017-18, as he allowed two goals or fewer in 17 of his 27 appearances during the season.
  •  Huska represented Slovakia at the IIHF World Junior Championship in both 2016 and 2017, as well as the IIHF U18 World Championship in both 2014 and 2015. In each of the last three international tournaments which he appeared (2015 IIHF U18 World Championship, 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, and 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship), Huska was named one of the Top Three Players on Slovakia.

From the Rangers prospect reports over the last few years:

10/26/15 | “He was one of the best goalies in the IIHF U-18 World Championship (last season), as he kept Slovakia in most of the games. He has great size and frame, and a good combination of size, quickness, and technique. He has a chance to become an NHL starter in the future.” Jan Gajdosik, European Scout on Adam Huska (selected in the seventh round, 184th overall, of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft)

11/23/15 |“He has settled into the North American style of play this season, and he is a much stronger athlete now as opposed to seven months ago. He is a very composed and patient goalie, and he has a calming influence on our entire team.” – Green Bay Gamblers Head Coach/General Manager Pat Mikesch on Adam Huska

12/14/15 | “His biggest thing is his hand-eye coordination is so sharp. He has a strong understanding of the game. He simplifies it for himself. The size and the athletic ability is the way the pro goalies are really made these days. He’s got all that. That confidence and the composure that (he) plays with settles down our team a lot of the time, which has put us on this little hot streak here because our guys do have a lot of faith in him.” – Green Bay Gamblers General Manager/Head Coach Pat Mikesch on Adam Huska (Credit: Green Bay Press-Gazette)

11/21/16 | “He made some really acrobatic saves early, then I thought he was very good at controlling his rebounds. A lot of pucks hit him and stuck to him. He didn’t really let them get any flurries around the net. He did a great job of keeping pucks to the corner and smothering anything that was around the net, not letting them get a lot of whacks.” – Mike Cavanaugh, University of Connecticut Head Coach, on Adam Huska’s performance in a 4-0 win on Nov. 19 (Credit: DailyFreePress.com)

12/12/16 | “He’s seeing the puck really well right now. He played excellent (on Dec. 2) and we decided to go back to him (this weekend). He had a great weekend. He’s had three wins against Notre Dame, BU and Lowell, on the road, and he’s played outstanding. He works hard during the week, he’s very coachable and our kids like playing in front of him.” – Mike Cavanaugh, University of Connecticut Head Coach, on Adam Huska’s recent play (Credit: CollegeHockeyNews.com)

1/9/17 |“We know what a quality goaltender [Huska] is and I think our plan really was to get a volume of shots on him and eventually the law of averages works out, you’re going to get some. But I think Huska did a great job for his team.” – Yale Head Coach Keith Allain on facing Adam Huska on Jan. 7 (Credit: The Daily Campus)

“[Huska] was great. He was great all game. I thought he made some big, big saves. Even when they scored the two power play goals, he made a great pad save on the backdoor to keep it at 3-2 and give us a chance going into the third period.” – University of Connecticut Head Coach Mike Cavanaugh on Adam Huska’s performance on Jan. 7 against Yale (Credit: The Daily Campus)
