New York Rangers Top Prospects

Where some Rangers fall in a Top 50 prospect list

Scott Wheeler of The Athletic has three Ranger prospects listed in his Top-50 NHL drafted prospects:

  • #2: Kaapo Kakko
  • #10: Adam Fox
  • 36: Vitali Kravtsov

Wheeler writes that Kakko could start on the Rangers top line right away and that “it’s going to be a lot of fun to watch.” (The Athletic)

Of Fox, Wheeler writes that he has “undeniably brilliant offensive tools” and “uncharacteristically good defensive decision-making for a player his age.” (The Athletic)

On Kravtsov, Wheeler notes that he has a chance to be a 50-point player in the NHL and a “big part of the Rangers rebuild.” He adds that Kravtsov gives the Ranger “another strong offensive threat on the wing.” (The Athletic)

K’Andre Miller was one of 100 different prospects listed for slots 42-50 on the list.

The 2018 list had Filip Chytil at #23, Adam Fox at #34 and Brett Howden, Lias Andersson as honorable mentions.
