The Rangers have announced that their expected lines for tonight’s game against New Jersey are:
- Vlad Namestnikov, Brett Howden, Pavel Buchnevich
- Ryan Strome, Filip Chytil, Jesper Fast
- Phil Di Giuseppe, Steven Fogarty, Vinni Lettieri
- Micheal Haley, Gabriel Fontaine, Patrick Newell
- Marc Staal, Joey Keane
- Tarmo Reunanen, Joe Morrow
- Ryan Lindgren, Mason Geersen
- Henrik Lundqvist
- Adam Huska
The Devils are expected to field a team that includes Taylor Hall, Jack Hughes, Kyle Palmieri, Travis Zajac, Wayne Simmonds and PK Subban.
The Rangers announced that Brandon Crawley, Jake Elmer, Vincent LoVerde, and Darren Raddysh have all been sent to Hartford.
On Greg McKegg, David Quinn said “I’ve liked everything I’ve seen about him. Very coachable, works hard, pays attention to detail.” (NYR)
Adam Rotter: Not quite the star studded lineup the Rangers had on Wednesday, though the Devils are certainly, and understandably since the game is at home, bringing their big guys. For the Rangers, this is very much about the two guys centering the top two lines in Brett Howden and Filip Chytil. There isn’t a ton of firepower with this lineup and five of the six defensemen are either going to be in Hartford or as the 7th defenseman/released from PTO in Joe Morrow. Henrik Lundqvist will likely get the first half of the game and he is surely to be tested with the combination of who the Devils are dressisng and who the Rangers are/aren’t on defense. Tomorrow in Philly will probably be a bit of a mix between Wednesday and tonight with a more cut-down roster likely in the two home games next week.
