The lines and lineup for the Rangers tonight against Philly

6:23PM: David Quinn spoke with the media prior to the game and said (NYR):

  • On the goalie plan, “Shesterkin is going to play the whole night.”
  • On Panarin back on the ice, “it was nice to see but it wasn’t a surprise, we knew it was very minor and he will be ready to go soon.”
  • On Ryan Lindgren, “the lineup was played out but if it was on merit he would certainly have been in the lineup tonight because I thought he did a pretty good job last night.”
  • On Matthew Robertson, “there is a lot to like about his game, he can really skate, defends well, good skill. You can see why he was drafted in the position he was. Unfortunately he got a little dinged up out in Traverse City and that set him back a little bit in camp but he’s ready to go tonight and we are anxious to see him.”
  • On where things are with the training camp roster, “I think we are at this point in time at training camp, I don’t think we are quite there yet but closing in on it, I don’t think we are quite there yet, we still have four, including tonight, exhibition games to go so you need bodies to play games and we still want to evaluate people. Like I said when training camp started, I think you would be hard pressed to find a camp with more opportunities and we want to give people plenty of opportunity.”
