Lundqvist in net against Wild, Zibanejad hopefully back Wednesday

2:22PM: Zibanejad spoke after practice and said (NYR):

  • Will you play tonight, “we will see, this was a step in the right direction to be out there for the whole skate and to skate afterwards. We’ll take it day by day.”
  • On being out, “It’s been difficult at times, really haven’t had…you break your leg you know how many weeks that is going to be, this situation has been a bit different and you don’t really have a timetable. You try to take it day by day. It hasn’t been the most fun time but trying to be positive and looking forward to get back.”
  • Can you tell us what the injury was, “I don’t want to go into details but…you guys can figure out…it was upper body and I’m not going to go into more details than that.”
  • Did you have a setback, “I don’t know, you are trying to see how much you can take and what level you are at. There are a lot of days that I went without a day off, just got some rest. I wouldn’t call it a setback, but you are trying to get back and maybe at times you push harder than you should just to try where your limit is at and that is what we did.”

12PM: Henrik Lundqvist will start in net for the Rangers against Mats Zuccarello and the Minnesota Wild. (NYR)

Greg McKegg will miss the game due to injury and will be replaced by Boo Nieves. (NYR)

Mika Zibanejad will not play tonight but the Rangers are targeting Wednesday for his return. (NYR)
