  • Three in a row for this Rangers team and a game that that was see-sawing but ultimately saved by Henrik Lundqvist. It’s another game that the Rangers probably lose, maybe get a point, if it’s played a month or so ago. You need to find ways to win and that is something this team is learning to do and has been doing lately.
  • Lundqvist was outstanding in the same way that he was in Carolina a few weeks ago. As noted before, his numbers aren’t that great but he’s been terrific for the Rangers in almost all of his appearances this season.
  • It was great to see Mika Zibanejad back for the Rangers. It may take a few games for him to fully get into the swing of things but he was able to score and get his return off on the right foot.
  • Like most other games, you can point to great play from Panarin and Fox. Filip Chytil had a strong game but I’m not sure about Ryan Strome on the wing. It’s an imperfect situation since the Rangers don’t want Chytil on the third line and Howden on the fourth line, but Strome needs the puck to be effective and I’m not sure he will have it enough on the wing  vs the middle.
  • Next up it’s the Bruins. Boston crushed the Rangers at MSG about a month ago and while this may not be a measuring stick game, a good performance will be even more evidence that the team is turning a corner and heading in the right direction.
