8:33PM: Asked about the Chytil line and getting them into offensive situations, Peter Laviolette said “I think that would be a position of strength for them, to get into the offensive zone. If there are opportunities to throw them into the offensive zone for faceoffs I would consider that.” (NYR)
Asked about Chytil and putting him with Panarin, Laviolette said “I think there becomes a point in a career where you’re not 18 anymore, you’re not in your first year in the league and you’ve taken steps to prove you are a really good player. I think that at that point you have to expand your mind on what the potential is of that player. You’ve seen for an exhibition game, for the first three games that Kaapo was in a spot or Laf was in a spot or Fil’s been in a spot. That is the starting point…for me, I think you’ve got to put things in place and evaluate it. I really like Kaapo up with Mika and Kreids because I think the line has been strong and providing what I hoped it would. Putting a guy like Panarin with Chytil and Laf, they’ve been a really good line for us. I don’t think about changing it, but there is an opportunity and with that opportunity they’ve got to grab with it and run with it and take charge of it.” (NYR)
