The Rangers have claimed 6-4, 23-year old defenseman Vincent Iorio off of waivers from San Jose.
Iorio was originally a second round pick of Washington in 2021 and was claimed by San Jose off of waivers earlier this season from Washington.
He played 21 games for San Jose this season and had three assists and an average of 16:30 per game.
Prior to this season he played 9 games over two years for Washington, netting one assist and an average of 11:20 per game.
He is a right shot defenseman and an RFA at the end of the season.
Adam Rotter: Why not add a 23-year old defenseman? The Rangers need as many chances at finding young players to go forward with and so there is no downside in claiming someone like Iorio.
