Brady Skjei scores but USA eliminated at the Worlds

Brady Skjei scored for Team USA but the Americans were eliminated by Russia in the Quarterfinals of the World Championships.

Skjei had four shots and a plus one rating in 18:08.

Chris Kreider played 12:20, had no shots on goal and was in front of the net for Team USA’s 3rd goal.

Adam Fox dressed but did not take a shift for Team USA.

Alex Georgiev was the backup for Russia

Henrik Lundqvist and Sweden lost to Finland 5-4 in OT and were eliminated.

Filip Chytil – Czech Republic vs Italy:

Chytil picked up an assist Friday in the Czech’s 8-0 win over Italy.

Chytil had an assist, 1 shot, a plus three rating and played 12:23.

Update: Chytil was a scratch in the Czech win over Austria.


Adam Fox, Chris Kreider, Brady Skjei – USA vs Denmark:

Kreider had a goal, 2 shots, a plus one rating, 12:50 of ice time and was called for roughing.

Fox had a plus two rating and 10:29 and Skjei was a plus one in 18:48.

USA plays Germany on Sunday morning.

Update: Against Germany:

  • Kreider had two shots on goal in 12:27
  • Fox had 1 shot in 10:35
  • Skjei had 1 shot in 19:38.

Henrik Lundqvist – Sweden vs Switzerland

Stopped 21 of 24 shots in a 4-3 win.

Sweden plays Latvia tomorrow.

(Watch) Chris Kreider scores in Team USA win over Great Britain

Chris Kreider had one goal and one assist in Team USA’s 6-3 win over Great Britain at the Worlds.

Kreider’s goal:

He had three shots, a plus two rating and played 15:25.

Brady Skjei had four shots on goal and a plus two rating in 19:41 and Adam Fox had three shots on goal and a minus one rating in 10:31.

Kreider started the game on Team USA’s top line with Jack Eichel and Johnny Gaudreau.

Skjei was paired with Noah Hanifin and Fox was paired with Quinn Hughes.

Brady Skjei named Player of the Game in USA win over Kakko/Finland

Brady Skjei scored a goal and was named Team USA’s player of the game in their OT win over Finland.

Skjei played 21:48 and had two shots on goal.

Chris Kreider was a plus one in 13:57 and tied up a Finnish player that allowed Johnny Gaudreau to score Team USA’s 2nd goal.

Adam Fox had one shot in 11:50.

For Finland, Kaapo Kakko had six shots on goal and a plus one rating in 18:46.

Russia defeated the Czech Republic 3-0 and in that game Filip Chytil had one shot in 11:52 for the Czechs.

Sunday’s Rangers World Championship recap

Adam Fox, Brady Skjei and Chris Kreider helped team USA to a 7-1 win over France.

Kreider had a goal, 2 shots and a plus one rating in 11:23.

Fox had an assist, 3 shots and a plus one rating in 16:58.

Skjei played 20:20 which led all USA skaters.

Team USA plays tomorrow against Kaapo Kakko and Finland.

Alex Georgiev started for Russia and stopped all 15 shots in Russia’s 5-0 win over Austria.

On Saturday Filip Chytil scored in the Czech Republic’s win over Norway.

Chytil had four shots in 12:38.

Henrik Lundqvist is expected to start against Italy on Sunday.
