Libor Hajek sent to Hartford

The Rangers announced that defenseman Libor Hajek has been sent to Hartford.

Hajek returned to the Rangers lineup on Saturday after missing 16 games with a knee sprain.

Against the Blues, Hajek was a minus two in 15:05.

On the season, Hajek has five assists, a minus four rating, 12 PIM and 23 shots on goal with an average of 15:59 per game.

Hajek was a scratch last night against the Islanders.

Adam Rotter: This wasn’t much of a surprise as the Rangers wanted Hajek playing regularly after his injury. Right now there is a spot for Hajek on defense and rather than have him sit or alternate in and have, likely, Ryan Lindgren sit, the Rangers are sending him down and he can play top minutes to knock the rust off and get his game on track.
