Forbes has released their annual listing of NHL franchise values and for the fifth straight season the Rangers rank as the most valuable team in the NHL.

Forbes values the Rangers at $1.65 billion, ahead of the Maple Leafs at $1.5 billion and Montreal at $1.34 billion.

The Rangers value, according to Forbes, has grown 6% since last year and Forbes says that they led the NHL in revenue, operating income and other categories.

Forbes lists Madison Square Garden’s current value at $6.16 million and notes that just the Rangers and Knicks account for $5.65 billion of that.

They note that if the Knicks and Rangers are worth $5.65 billion as non-playoff teams, they could be worth over $7 billion if both were to make the playoffs.
