Gerard Gallant spoke this morning and said (NYR):

  • Is it disappointing that Panarin is playing, but Trocheck isn’t, “Not at all. I told you when camp started, the first four games, we were going to let everybody have a chance to play some games, most guys and mix and match some lines, so it’s not a big deal.”
  • Where do you see Kravtsov so far in training camp, “he’s played well, done a good job. I would say it’s positive right now, but again we are half-way through the preseason. Keep playing well, keep doing the right things and make our lineup.”
  • He said he was nervous and didn’t play well in the first game, has he gotten better, “I don’t think he didn’t play well. He probably thinks he can do better, all players do that, but I thought he was fine the first game and he’ll be fine. He’ll keep working hard, keep playing hard and make our decision tough.”
  • On Gustav Rydahl, “Big, strong guy. I’ve seen him for a week now, but he skates well, big strong guy, defensive side of the puck real well. Again, he’s another guy, keep playing well and make our decisions real tough for us and keep improving every day. He’s come over from Europe and is used to playing on the big rink and it’s a different set up for him here, but he’s done well, definitely opened some eyes.
  • Who else besides Chytil is playing back to back, Gauthier and Bartkowski.”

Tim Gettinger and Andy Welinski are on waivers. (Staple)
