10/11/22 | The Rangers have signed goalie Talyn Boyko.
From the Rangers: Boyko, 19, split his 2021-22 season with the Tri-City Americans and Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL). With Kelowna, Boyko posted a 28-12-4 record, 2.79 goals-against average, .913 save percentage, and two shutouts in 46 games. In addition, Boyko appeared in four playoff games for the Rockets. Last season, he was named to the WHL’s Second All-Star Team.”
In four WHL seasons, the 6-7, 208-pound goaltender native posted a 43-43-8 record for a 3.56 goals-against average and .899 save percentage in 102 appearances.
The Drumheller, Alberta native was originally selected by the Rangers in the fourth round, 112nd overall, of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
10/10/22 | The Rangers have sent Julien Gauthier to Hartford and released Matt Bartkowski from his PTO.
The Chicago Blackhawks claimed Jarred Tinordi off of waivers from the Rangers.

Adam Rotter: Surprising that Tinordi was claimed off of waivers and I wonder if that brings Matt Bartkowski back to the Rangers as a veteran to keep in Hartford.
They are going with 23 to start, but at some point I think the Rangers are going to have to cut down at least one forward, maybe two, to increase their cap space for the trade deadline. The issue is that all of their forwards need to go on waivers, so they would risk losing someone (Probably Dryden Hunt or Ryan Carpenter) by doing that. Ryan Reaves would be another option that could potentially be waived, but that seems unlikely based upon his unique skill set and role in the locker room and as a leader.
They can do cap gymnastics by sending Zac Jones and Braden Schneider down to Hartford as paper transactions on off days to accrue deadline space, but they are going to need to do something. They are going to need reinforcements at the deadline and while they have the assets to make moves, they will also need the cap space.
