Adam Rotter: None of this is surprising but it does finally end the Libor Hajek era with the Rangers. The defenseman that was reportedly the key piece that was needed from Tampa Bay to include JT Miller in the Ryan McDonagh trade is now out of the organization. There were hopes for Hajek and he looked good in his first, albeit very brief, stint with the Rangers, but he hurt his shoulder, other players came into the organization and he never seemed to regain his footing or place in the lineup. It’s time for him to get a fresh start somewhere else and see if he can become a regular NHLer.
