Filip Chytil is heading back to NY after returning to his native Czechia for what the team called a “reset.” (Kaplan)
Emily Kaplan tweets that there is still no timetable for Chytil to return, but that he made “great progress” while training back in Czechia.
Chytil posted a picture of himself on the ice and standing next to Jaromir Jagr.
Adam Rotter: Getting back to NY is step one for Chytil and his eventual return to the lineup. I do love the fact that he was on the ice with Jagr when he was back home. Any time spent with Jaromir Jagr on the ice is a positive and will hopefully translate when he does return.
Hopefully he can start skating with the team and then maybe they look for a return after the All-Star break. For a while the Rangers were getting by without him, but they need him back on the ice as soon as he is ready. He won’t return to his role centering Artemi Panarin and Alexis Lafreniere, but his presence will immediately change the look of the third line and give the Rangers, hopefully, some more secondary scoring.
