  • This was a stinker and one that the Rangers never really got into. It was a game that mattered a lot to Philly and they played like it. This game mattered to the Rangers because First Place in the Conference and Metro are not assured, but they the Flyers stifled them and unlike the last game against Philly, the Rangers couldn’t find their offense.
  • It’s just hard to judge the team over the last few weeks. They have struggled at 5-on-5 at times, had some bad starts, shaky defense, and bad periods, but found ways to win for the most part. Will they be able to turn things back on in 9-10 days when the playoffs start? We’ll see.
  • Usually they have found their way, or at least the PP has, during games, but they didn’t tonight. The Rangers played tonight just because it was on the schedule, they didn’t push or press and seemed more focused on just getting the game over with healthy. I don’t necessarily blame them, but you’d still like to see more.
  • I was a bit surprised that Matt Rempe didn’t get in tonight. I still don’t think he starts Game 1, but this would have been a nice game for him to get 10 minutes or so. I do think he gets in against the Islanders on Saturday in what is sure to be a chippy game after how things went on Tuesday.
  • It’s the Islanders on Saturday, Ottawa on Monday, and then nothing until the playoffs begin on Saturday or Sunday.
