The Rangers have re-signed defenseman Matthew Robertson to a one-year deal.

Robertson, 23, played in 68 games for Hartford last season scoring four goals and 17 assists.

He is a left-shot defenseman that was the 49th overall pick in 2019.

Adam Rotter: This is probably Robertson’s last shot to make it with the Rangers. There was some thought that he wouldn’t be qualified and allowed to leave as a free agent, but it’s smart and  no-risk to qualify him, keep his rights and as a big-bodied option for depth.
