2022 New York Rangers Training Camp

Bruins beat Rangers 5-4

10:23 PM: Gerard Gallant spoke after the game and said (NYR):

  • Have you seen improvement from Kravtsov, “I didn’t like our game tonight, not just him, a lot of them. A lot of them didn’t do themselves favors with tonight’s game, but again, it’s from Day 1 to tonight. It’s not judged on one game and hopefully they’ll get back and all play better than they did tonight. A lot of guys are battling for jobs, but it wasn’t a good game for a lot of those guys tonight, and our whole team, we weren’t good enough. The one line, The Kid Line was pretty good, besides that I didn’t like our team much. Sammy Blais stood out, too and played pretty well.”

Updates from the Rangers on Wednesday

7PM: Jaro Halak is now starting instead of Shesterkin. Shesterkin is on the bench. (TNT)

2:05 PM: Gerard Gallant spoke this morning and said the following about the lines and lineup:

  • On Vesey on the top line, “we put him everywhere, but a lot of guys. I’m not going to specifically point out Vesey because there is Rydahl and all those guys battling for those spots. He’s one of them, played in different situations and we want to give our guys a look. We are trying to fill out rosters to make sense for opening night. These exhibition games, you’d like to play well and you get more of your team into them, but again, I’m not putting too much into the lines or lineup right now.”

  • How did they look on the ice after a day off, “not bad, today was good. We worked some PP at the end and some defensive zone coverage stuff. It was good, they worked hard, got a good sweat out of it.”
  • On Trocheck replacing Strome on the PP, “not a lot of difference, they are both playing the same position, Trocheck fills in for Strome’s spot, both right handed shots, both can move the puck and shoot the puck. I don’t think it’s going to change a whole lot. Different person, but they play the same role. “
