What the Rangers have reportedly been offered for Nils Lundkvist

Arthur Staple writes in The Athletic that the Rangers were offered a “high” second round pick in this past June’s draft for Nils Lundkvist.

Staple writes that the offer of a second round pick, but for the 2023 draft, is “still good” and that Lundkvist’s agent first requested a trade prior to the trade deadline last year. (The Athletic)

Lundkvist was the 28th overall pick in 2018.

The Rangers are trying to move Lundkvist before training camp starts.

The Rangers could use Nils Lundkvist as a big trade chip

Larry Brooks wrote on 2/2 that with Braden Schneider’s emergence, Nils Lundkvist is the “blue chip most likely to be played” at the trade deadline. (NY Post)

Brooks writes today at NY Post Sports Plus that you can “take it to the bank that the Rangers aggressively will seek to move Lundkvist as the lead piece of a package leading up to the deadline and will try to do so sooner than later.”

Lundkvist scored his first AHL goal over the weekend.

Brooks suggests that the Rangers offer Lundkvist and Filip Chytil to Vancouver for JT Miller to bolster the top-six or possibly offer Lundkvist for a first-round pick that could be used in another trade.  (NY Post Sports Plus)
