Sammy Blais signs one-year deal

Blais was a pending RFA. The Rangers acquired Blais and a second round pick last summer for Pavel Buchnevich.

Blais missed all but 14 games after tearing his ACL. Blais had been skating during the playoffs.

Sammy Blais to miss the rest of the season

11:16AM: The Rangers say that Blais is out for the season with a knee injury and has a recovery timeline of 6-8 months.

Greg McKegg was called back up from Hartford.

10:04AM: It is a torn ACL for Blais and he will have to wait a few weeks until the swelling goes down to have surgery. (Brooks)

9:57AM: Sammy Blais is expected to miss the rest of the season after he was injured on Sunday when his skates came together with PK Subban. (Brooks)

Blais immediately went to the ice, grabbed his knee and had to be helped off the ice by medical trainer Jim Ramsay and Chris Kreider.
