11:16AM: The Rangers say that Blais is out for the season with a knee injury and has a recovery timeline of 6-8 months.
Greg McKegg was called back up from Hartford.
10:04AM: It is a torn ACL for Blais and he will have to wait a few weeks until the swelling goes down to have surgery. (Brooks)
9:57AM: Sammy Blais is expected to miss the rest of the season after he was injured on Sunday when his skates came together with PK Subban. (Brooks)
Blais immediately went to the ice, grabbed his knee and had to be helped off the ice by medical trainer Jim Ramsay and Chris Kreider.
Adam Rotter: The way his foot went awkwardly into the boards, the way he went down, the scream and the clutching of the knee immediately made it seem like an ACL injury and that his season is over.
It sucks as Blais was turning into a nice role player for the Rangers, someone with a lot more to give than just a big body, sneaky skill and an ability to play up and down the lineup.
