The Hartford Wolf Pack have announced that 38-year old goalie James Reimer has signed a PTO.

The PTO allows Reimer 25 games before he either needs to be signed or released but it can be terminated at any time. (AHL)

In his career he is 232-191-67 with 32 shutouts, a 2.88 GAA and .909 save percentage.

He was 7-4-2 for Ottawa last season in 14 games with a 2.42 GAA and .886 save percentage.

Elliotte Friedman said on 32 Thoughts that Rangers were planning to bring a goalie to Hartford.

Adam Rotter: Reimer provides depth and gives the Rangers someone that can give Hartford some veteran goaltending since Spencer Martin is now backing up Dylan Garand. Reimer has been around for a long time, he’s a capable goalie that can step in once in a while. He was probably the best goalie available as a free agent and it’s too early in the year, especially without seeing Jonas Korpisalo, to trade for anyone. There is no risk to this and Hartford needed a goalie, so Reimer can fill that role until Korpisalo comes back and that hopefully allows them to send Spencer Martin back down.
