Kakko, Kravtsov and Fox sitting out final Traverse game

2:49PM: The Rangers beat St. Louis 5-3 in their final game of the Traverse City tournament.

  • Adam Huska made 34 saves on 37 shots in the win.
  • Patrick Newell: 1 goal, plus one, 2 shots
  • Tarmo Reunanen: 2 assists, plus one, 2 shots, hooking penalty
  • Ryan Dmowski: 1 goal, 3 shots
  • Jake Elmer: 1 goal, 2 shots
  • Karl Henriksson: 3 assists, plus one
  • Joey Keane: 1 assist
  • Matthew Robertson: minus one, 1 shot

12:04PM: Adam Fox, Kaapo Kakko and Vitali Kravtsov will all sit out today’s final Traverse City game against St. Louis.

  • The Rangers begin training camp on Thursday.

4:48PM: Kaapo Kakko scored the OT winner for the Rangers in their come from behind win over Minnesota.

The Rangers scored three goals in the third period:

  • 1:06 Vitali Kravtsov (PP) from Karl Henriksson and Kaapo Kakko | Wild 2-1
  • 2:44 Vitali Kravtsov (PP) from Kaapo Kakko | 2-2 tie
  • 18:23 Patrick Newell from Kaapo Kakko | 3-3 tie

Kakko’s OT winner was unassisted at 2:48 of OT.

Kaapo Kakko will make his Traverse City debut for the Rangers on Monday in their game against Minnesota.

Kaako has missed the prior two games with an illness and while Kakko skated over the weekend and reportedly “looked pretty good” he was not 100%. (NHL.com)
