NBCSN has announced that Henrik Lundqvist will represent the Rangers at the All-Star game later this month in San Jose.
Lundqvist has previously been an All-Star in 2018, 2012, 2011 and 2009.
Heading into tonight’s game against Pittsburgh, Lundqvist is 12-9-7 with a save percentage of .916 and GAA of 2.81.
Lundqvist’s 5 appearances in the All-Star game trails Eddie Giacomin’s 6 for the most in team history. (NYR)
Adam Rotter: With the 3 on 3 format and every team needing a representative, Henrik is really the only choice. He is very deserving of it but I think you can make an argument for Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider or Kevin Hayes as the Rangers rep. The issue with those players is that it’s hard to slot them in ahead of any of the other Metro forwards and then finding a player on one of those teams to replace Henrik.
