David Quinn said after the game on MSG:

  • “we just weren’t really dialed in defensively tonight, not just the goals that they scored but how many times did you look up and it was a 1 on 3 in front of our net. We cheated the game too often tonight, very loose defensively, we didn’t want to hit anyone, didn’t want to get hit. We played very slow, we looked as slow as we have in a long time.”
  • “It’s not concerning, it’s disappointing. You want to come out with a pace and you want to put your best foot forward and give yourself a chance and we just didn’t do that. We cheated the game, we didn’t play fast enough, didn’t play a North game at all. I think they scored three of their goals when we had chances to go North and turned it over. That is certainly something we need to clean up before tomorrow night.”
  • “we didn’t play hard enough tonight, that is for sure, didn’t play smart enough. We are a team that has played hard but big deal, you should play hard, you are in the NHL and a pro athlete. You shouldn’t get a pat on the back because you played hard, it should be expected. We didn’t play hard tonight and we certainly didn’t play smart.”
  • “Our PP certainly needs to be addressed, too slow, too methodical, we don’t have an attack mentality on the PP.”
