David Quinn said after the game on a few players (NYR):
- On Kravtsov, “I haven’t had a chance to look or talk to the trainer or him about what happened, he seemed to be okay from what I’m hearing but I’ll find out here.”
- On Lias Andersson, “he’s a little older, better shape, evolution of a player. People forget how young these guys are, he’s 21-I don’t know if he’s 21-yet, not-yet, so he’s still 20. He could be a freshman in a lot of college hockey programs, this is guy who is getting better and better.”
- On Tony DeAngelo, “I thought he had anothe really good night, he’s in great shape.”
- On Ryan Lindgren, “his play pisses people off so I think he’s going to be put in a position where he’s going to have to fight every now and then. That is his game, always been his game and one of his strengths.”
- On the roster, “the way a season goes, we have guys that will get called up that will be sent down, maybe sooner than later, it all depends. I wouldn’t be shocked if some of the guys who don’t make it aren’t up in a month or six weeks because there are always injuries. That is the way it is when you have a young roster and so many guys competing for positions. Maybe some of the young guys that make it will struggle out of the gate and the right thing to do will be to send them down and then call another guy up, really, with us, everything is on the table.”

Adam Rotter:
- Well the preseason is over and now it’s decision time. The expectation is that decisions will be made tomorrow and that when the Rangers get together for practice on Monday they will have their group.
- Ryan Lindgren has made a big push to be the third pair left defenseman, but I think Libor Hajek will edge him out. Lindgren brings a toughness and physicality on defense and looks like he could be a player down the line, but I think Hajek makes the team and gets the opportunity to continue his strong five-game stretch from last year.
- If Vitali Kravtsov is hurt, as it looked after his collision late in the third, he will probably start the season with the Rangers but on IR. Being on IR would count against the salary cap but not count as a roster spot. If he is healthy, I think it’s probably 55/45 that he starts in Hartford and Filip Chytil makes the team on the wing.
- Chytil had some strong moments tonight and I think he will get the nod to start his third straight season with the Rangers, but I think the leash will be short.
- One thing to note is that while the Rangers play thrice between 10/3 and 10/17. Three games in the first two weeks of the year while the Wolf Pack play four times in that span, so we might see some players go up and down in that span.
- I think Brendan Smith makes the team as a swingman but that role makes it tough to project on 13th forwards and 7th defensemen since he could be both.
- We should know all the answers soon enough.
