He said, more specifically, that it is an “aortic valve replacement, aortic root and ascending aortic replacement.”

Lundqvist announced recently that he was unable to play this season due to a heart condition.
Capitals GM Brian McLellan said recently that Lundqvist has “had a heart issue all along that he’s managed that’s been fine” and that “a routine physical turned into a ‘we need to explore further what’s going on with you.” (Russian Machine Never Breaks, NY Post)
