Ryan Strome

Ryan Strome is in Covid protocol and will miss tomorrow’s game

5:02PM: The Rangers have announced that Ryan Strome has entered the Covid protocol and he will be unavailable for tomorrow night in Montreal.

Greg McKegg has been called up.

The Rangers have confirmed that they are 100% vaccinated.

Strome played 20:57 last night, had five shots on goal and was on the ice when Dallas won the game in OT.

Adam Rotter: Unfortunately this is still part of this season and something the Rangers will have to contend with tomorrow and likely at other times during the season. It seems like almost every day you see a story about a player going into Covid protocol and today that player is Strome.

As for tomorrow, it may only be one game, but I’d expect Filip Chytil to get moved up and potentially get his first crack at centering Artemi Panarin and Kaapo Kakko in what could be the Rangers second line next season. Chytil and Kakko have had good chemistry, but that is much more of a long-term thing to consider. Strome is a big part of the top-six and leadership group and he’ll be a big loss in Montreal and possibly/probably Toronto on Monday.
