Copp and Chytil are day-to-day and Kakko skated on his own

4:44 PM: Gerard Gallant spoke after practice today and said (NYR):

  • On the injuries, “nothing more than day-to-day, that is about it.”
  • What about tomorrow for Copp and Chytil, “I don’t think they’ll be playing tomorrow. “

  • Do you still expect Kakko to start the playoffs, “he skated today, I think he did pretty well, but, again, we are going to take it day-to-day. I fully expect that, it hasn’t changed in my mind. We’ll see how he gets along, and, again, I still think he plays games next week, but I’m not trying to put pressure on somebody, I just hope he is ready to play and that is what we feel, but we’ll see.”
  • Do you think Copp and Chytil will be ready for the playoffs, “I think it’s day-to-day, really. I don’t see any issue there, but I’m not doctor and I don’t want to get ahead of myself or put pressure on players. I was told day-to-day, not serious. We’ll see what that means.”

12:14 PM: Andrew Copp and Filip Chytil are being considered day-to-day after both left last night’s win over the Islanders. (Staple)

Copp has a lower-body injury that he suffered late in the third period and Chytil left in the third period after getting cross-checked in the first period. (NY Post)

Kaapo Kakko skated on his own this morning (Staple) and the Rangers are hoping that he can play this coming week. (MSG)
