- So, officially, it is second place in the Metro for the Rangers.
- If I were the Rangers, I’d petition the league to just forfeit these next two games so that they can keep everyone healthy. The Rangers have nothing to play for in these last two and as many players in the top-nine as possible should be rested and so should Adam Fox and either Ryan Lindgren, Jacob Trouba, or K’Andre Miller. That goes for Igor Shesterkin, too. I’d give Alex Georgeiv these last two games.
- The Hurricanes were the better team tonight. The Rangers weren’t bad, but the Hurricanes were just better as they’ve been most of the time when they’ve played. I don’t think that the Rangers struggles are anything big, but the Hurricanes just show how relentless they can be and how tough a potential second round match up could be.
- It stinks for a ton of reasons that Artemi Panarin was injured tonight, but now he won’t get to 100 points.
- Both Pittsburgh and Washington lost tonight, so nothing changed in the standings. As of right now the Rangers would face the Penguins, but the Caps are only one point behind and have two games left to the Penguins one.
- Tomorrow the Rangers host Montreal and then the regular season ends on Friday against the Caps.
