On TSN‘s Insider Trading, Darren Dreger said “there is tons of speculation around Pierre-Luc Dubois. The Jets, competitively, aren’t interested in going backwards. They are keenly aware of Pierre-Luc Dubois contract preference, but he’s a big part of that team. There is tons of trade interest in Dubois, however if the New York Rangers or Montreal Canadiens or another team intends on landing Dubois, it’s going to take a very substantial offer.”
He continued, “if we’re looking at the Rangers, we’re looking at Chytil, Schneider, Kaapo Kakko as one of the main principles and maybe a first round draft pick on top of that. Otherwise I don’t think Winnipeg’s Kevin Cheveldayoff has the stomach to move Dubois this offseason.”
In The Athletic, Arthur Staple wrote that the Rangers “are willing to lose” Chytil in a trade if it brings them an “older, more established top-six center.”
Staple adds that the Rangers are believed to have spoken with the Jets about Mark Scheifele as well. (The Athletic)
