2022-23 Rangers Regular Season

Updates from the Rangers on Tuesday

3:16 PM: Gerard Gallant spoke after practice today and said (NYR):

  • “He’s played good, I’m real happy and I talked to him today a little bit about that and just keep progressing the way he’s going.”
  • On Chytil’s improved faceoff percentage, “Bigger, stronger, more of a man’s game and that is exactly what took place last year and it’s turning over again this year and he’s playing great hockey. Strong on the puck, winning faceoffs and doing all the things that matter…..what’s he got? Two goals? And he scored them right around the net and that is what we ask of our players and he’s doing a good job, real happy.”

  • What was David Quinn’s impact on the young players, “definitely, like I said, when he was here the team wasn’t…there were a lot of young mistakes and they progressed and progressed and that is what we talk about with any young players and we’ve got 4-5 of them here, they were 18-19-20 years old when he had them in these places and all the kids developed under him and got a lot better and they are working hard and he’s done a good job with them. I got them and they are getting close, well, not close to being a finished product, but improving every year and that is what you want from your young players and it takes time sometimes and last year they made big strides with our team.”

12:20 PM: Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba are not skating today at practice with what the team is calling maintenance. (Stephenson)
