Gerard Gallant spoke on Wednesday and said (NYR):
- Is everyone available tomorrow, “everybody is available, yup.”
- On being loose with the puck at times against the Ducks, “100%, that was exactly what the message was. Like I said, when you are up by three goals and then you get a little casual and they come back and score and that happened twice in the third period, that is what frustrates you a little bit. You can’t go overboard on them because we played a real good hockey game, we just got a little casual and they scored two goals and it’s frustrating when that happens, so you don’t want that to happen too often.”
- How important are the two days of practice, “two good days in a row, you get to do some of your D-zone stuff, neutral zone stuff, you can work on some of your system stuff and still have a good pace to the practice. That was the best part about having two days like that and you don’t get it very often, but it’s early in the year and the guys are fresh, it was two good days of practice, not long, not hard, but just good days of practice.”

Jacob Trouba was asked about David Quinn returning with the Sharks tomorrow and said (NYR):
- “Good, it will be good to see him. I was glad to see him get behind a bench again, for sure. Obviously he spent some time here and it will be good to see him again.”
- What was it like playing for him, “Good. I think that year was tough at times, especially with everything we went through with the world. Definitely a challenging year, but he means well, cares about his players a lot, I think he shows that he’s a really good person and nice guy. I think that everybody in this room knows that, everybody in the organization knows how good of a person he is and it will be good to see him again.”
