2022-23 Rangers Regular Season

What Gerard Gallant said after the loss to the Isles

Gerard Gallant met with the media following the loss to the Isles and said (MSG):

  • On the game, “Yea, I was happy with our game, I thought we played well, worked hard competed and at the end of the day we lost a tough hockey game. Tough to swallow.”
  • On the third period, “just like the rest of the game, mostly. Obviously, that early goal was a little shocker on us, but after that we played well, good opportunities. I don’t think they had a whole lot in the third, besides their three goals.”
  • Is it a confidence issue when guys are making mistakes, “I think you saw what happened with the last two goals….they weren’t mistakes.”
  • What was your reaction to the 4-3 goal and what led to it, “Did you guys not see it? I’m not going to say nothing about it, but you saw the last two goals what the situations were.”
  • What is the level of frustration, “They played well, we deserved the game tonight. We didn’t get it, we deserved the game tonight. Played well enough, I like the way we played, battled hard. Islanders are the best team in the league in the third period, found a way to get three goals again in the third, but I like the way we played most of the game.”
  • On the line changes you made before the game, “They were okay, I had no issues with that.”
  • On Chris Kreider’s opportunities, “He played well, came down the wing and scored a nice goal on the PP after going hard to the net. Just little things like that and I thought he played a good game.”
