6:33 PM: Ryan Lindgren, Julien Gauthier and Libor Hajek are in the lineup. (MSG)
4:48 PM: Gerard Gallant spoke before tonight’s game against the Red Wings in Detroit and said (NYR):
- Is it Igor tonight, “Yep, it is.”
- Shesterkin’s numbers haven’t been as good as last year, “no, ours aren’t either. He’s been good, we’re not putting any losses on him. Again, I think we’ve played pretty well and found some ways to lose hockey games and we gotta turn that around and find ways to win those games. The games that we won last year, that we don’t want to talk about a whole lot, we found ways to win those games and this year we seem to be finding ways to lose those games late in hockey games. We gotta crack that and get better, but overall I like the way we’re playing this season.”

- What is the key in protecting a two-goal lead, “I don’t know (smile). I just told you, we gotta protect it better. I thought we played well, we talked about it for two days, so I don’t want to get into the last game again.”
- Is there a benefit to going on the road right now, “I always like going on the road, get your team together, we’ve got a father’s trip. I think this is a two little game road trip, here and Nashville and we go home for one quick game and then we go back out West. I got no issues going on the road and hopefully we’ll play real well and get some big points and play real good hockey.”
- On Jimmy Vesey, “Played real well the last four games. Really happy with the way he’s played the last four games and he’s getting more of a chance to play up in the lineup. It’s good.”
- On Trouba battling through injuries, “He’s a veteran player and will tell the trainers what he can do. It’s nothing major, playoff-type of hockey for him right now. He just gets through it and plays the games and that is why he isn’t practicing as much, but he’ll be fine and get over the injury. He’s played well and hard for us, no concerns about it yet.”
Ryan Reaves, Ryan Carpenter and Zac Jones were the extras after the morning skate. (Stephenson)
