Wheeler, 36, had 16 goals and 39 assists last season for Winnipeg. He’s a right wing and has 1,118 career games between Boston and Atlanta/Winnipeg.
In 13 years with Atlanta/Winnipeg he had 262 goals and 550 assists in 897 games.
Adam Rotter: Wheeler would fit the role of veteran, top-nine RW. He’s big, a veteran, and should be motivated after being bought out in Winnipeg. On a short-term, likely cheap deal, he could be worth adding. He’s not as physical as he once was, but still has some offense in his game. It’s believed that there is a lot of interest in Wheeler and that a return to Boston is possible.
