Peter Laviolette met with the media following the loss to Dallas and said (NYR):
- On the game, “I thought we came out good again in the first period, thought we were playing well, a few mishandles with the puck, but for the most part it was pretty good. Second period I thought it got away from us a little bit in the neutral zone, they pressed a little bit more, we turned pucks over and we didn’t handle things clean, get behind them, things we did in the first period. They came out and scored to start the third period and from there they picked up some momentum and we couldn’t grab it. It was tough. I thought we started the right way, tough to finish that way and give up the goals in the third period.”
- On mistakes that forced them to defend more, “especially in the second period and third, but the second period it started for me. I thought we played a pretty smart first period and got it behind them and controlled the period and then pressed a little bit more and you gotta get through the neutral zone clean and if you don’t things turn around pretty quick and get back in your end.”
- “I’m not there yet. I think everybody…lose a hockey game you are disappointed and want to be better, especially when you have a lead. That is the frustrating part of it.”
