The Rangers have sent Brennan Othmann back to Hartford.
Othmann played in three games for the Rangers and had six shots on goal while averaging 9:05 per game.
Othmann had five shots in 12:26 of ice time against Chicago last week, he had 0 shots in 7:16 on Saturday against Montreal and one shot in 7:33 against Vancouver last night.
Multiple tweets about Othmann being sent down say that he showed “flashes” in his three games and that he will get more ice time in the AHL.
The Rangers are expected to call up another forward later today. (Rosen)
Adam Rotter: It was nice to give Othmann a look in a few games, but in the last two games he sort of got caught in Peter Laviolette cutting down the bench while the Rangers were trying to get back into games. They were down 3-0 against Montreal and the top-six was getting double shifted and it was the same for long stretches last night as the Rangers tried to get their best players on the ice as much as possible to try and get back into the game. He’ll go back to Hartford and play a big role and get a lot of ice time and potentially get another look later in the season.
