- This might as well have been Utica vs Hartford with the exception of Jonathan Quick in net for the Rangers and possibly Connor Mackey. The Devils are starting the season in Europe and so their best players are there and the Rangers likely held their regulars out tonight so that they could play tomorrow at MSG.
- With Jimmy Vesey out a couple of weeks then a spot on the fourth line is potentially open for Adam Edstrom to make the team with his strong camp.
- It will be interesting to see if the Rangers go with Victor Mancini next to Adam Fox tomorrow to give that a look or if the Rangers go with Connor Mackey until Ryan Lindgren is back.
