8:27AM: The Rangers have sent Matt Rempe down to Hartford.
Adam Rotter: It’s what makes the most sense. If Rempe is ever going to turn into a consistent bottom-six player then he needs to play and he’ll get that chance in Hartford. Hopefully he plays a lot of minutes and in all situations and that when he gets called back up he’ll be someone Peter Laviolette can trust to put into different situations.
Rempe had a spot coming into training camp and Adam Edstrom took it from him. It’s possible that Rempe doesn’t even make the team out of training camp if Jimmy Vesey doesn’t get hurt. Ultimately it’s not a big deal. Rempe wants to be known as a complete player and the only way to become that is by playing and even if he stuck around, he’s played about 10 total minutes in two games and that won’t get him anywhere.
