The Rangers have announced some changes to their hockey operations department.
- Ryan Martin has been promoted from Assistant GM and Hartford GM to Associate GM and Hartford GM.
- Martin joined the Rangers when Chris Drury was hired.
- Jim Sullivan has been promoted from Vice President, Hockey Strategy and Data Management to Assistant GM.
- Sullivan joined the Rangers in 2009 as a Video Strategist, was promoted Two-Years later to Director of Hockey Technology where he was responsible for researching and implementing solutions in accordance with the Rangers’ organizational strategy. He then held the position of Director, Player Care & Development/Analytics & Hockey Technology for seven seasons where he “worked directly with the Rangers’ front office to provide reporting and analysis of player progress, skill building plans, and improvement metrics. Under Sullivan’s guidance, the Rangers expanded their use of analytics, utilizing a software platform to import tracking data, statistics, and salary information in order to assist in player valuation and analysis.” He held the VP, Hockey Strategy and Data Management prior to the 21-22 season.
- Ryane Clowe re-joins the organization as Assistant GM after resigning on Sunday as an Assistant GM for San Jose. Prior to joining the Sharks, Clowe spent three seasons as a Hockey Operations advisor to Chris Drury
- Blake Wheeler joins the front office as a Hockey Operations Advis0r.
