Stats:

Adam Rotter:

  • This was another one of those games where you watch and keep saying to yourself that this team doesn’t have enough offense and that is especially true against a good team like Vegas.
  • Vegas did a great job of blocking shots as they blocked more shots than the Rangers had on goal and the Rangers had nearly as many shots miss the net as they did on goal.
  • Akira Schmid did make a few excellent saves including a shorthanded opportunity that would have tied the game…right before Vegas went up 3-1.
  • The Rangers brought in JT Miller for a lot of reasons and named him Captain for his compete level, attitude and leadership but he has not been effective at all offensively. He has 10 points in 21 games and outside of his OT and shootout winners, he has not been the player he is supposed to be or even was last season when he was acquired. It’s not an excuse because he’s playing, but is the training camp injury still bothering him? He’s never going to sit out unless he really has to, but this feels like one of those things where we find out when the season ends that he was playing through something he probably should have missed some time for.
  • They continue the road trip against the Avs on Thursday.
