Adam Rotter:
- Another absolute embarrassment from this Rangers team but I’m not sure what else could have been expected when they agreed to wear their home jerseys on the road.
- They played like they were only told at 12:55PM that the game started at 1. They were slow, discombobulated and made more decision after poor decision. It’s a game that really reinforces that the best course of action is to sell. It’s not like the Bruins are the Avalanche or Dallas or Tampa, the Bruins are basically in the same spot the Rangers are and yet they made Boston look like a Cup Contender.
- Frankly, they deserved to get more than 10 put on them with how they played. And they need to eat it and accept it. As painful and possibly unproductive as it might be, Mike Sullivan should make them watch the entire game all over again just to reinforce how terrible they were.
- It’s certainly not on Spencer Martin, or Jonathan Quick, but the Rangers should call up Dylan Garand and give him a chance. Emily Kaplan said that Igor Shesterkin may return in a week or two, though the Rangers should not rush him back into this mess by any means, but why not see if Garand shows enough to be the back-up next year.
- Things could potentially get much worse on Monday when Ryan Lindgren, but more importantly, Kaapo Kakko returns with Seattle. Maybe Mike Sullivan would have unlocked things for Kakko, but more than likely he was never going to be more thane he already was if he stayed with the Rangers. He needed a fresh start and going to Seattle, without the pressure of being the #2 overall pick for the Rangers, seems to have worked out for him.
