- It’s four in a row for the Rangers and Igor Shesterkin showed, again, tonight why as long as he is in net it will be hard for the Rangers to finish at the very, very bottom of the standings. Things could certainly still fall apart, they did when Shesterkin was in net earlier in the season but fell further apart once Shesterkin and Adam Fox went out, but Shesterkin is on top of his game right now.
- It’s very nice to see that on a night when he was removed from PP1 because JT Miller returned that Gabe Perreault continued to stay hot and set up the first goal when he was out with PP2.
- Moving Perreault off PP 1 is at the same time understandable because of JT Miller’s role on this team but also infuriating because of how good he has been lately in that spot. Luckily Perreault stayed with Alexis Lafreniere and Mika Zibanejad as a lone.
- I’d really like to see Jaro Chmelar get some more ice time, likely at the expense of Conor Sheary. Chmelar has enough flashes that it’s worth giving him a bit more of a role to see what else may be there.
- Artemi Panarin returns to MSG on Monday with LA.
