Rangers sign defenseman Mac Hollowell to one-year deal

The Rangers have signed defenseman Mac Hollowell to a one-year deal.

It’s a two-way contract that pays him $775,000 in the NHL and $160,000 in the AHL. (CapFriendly)

Hollowell, 24, is 5-9, 170 and is a right shot defenseman. He was not tendered a qualifying offer by the Leafs.

He played in six games for the Leafs last season and had 13 assists in 18 games with Toronto of the AHL.

His six games with Toronto last season came between 11/23 and 12/3.

Hollowell was picked 118th overall in 2018 by Toronto.

Rangers sign defenseman Erik Gustafsson to a one-year contract

The Rangers have signed defenseman Erik Gustafsson to a one-year deal worth $825,000.

Gustafson, 31, had seven goals and 35 assists in 70 games last season between Toronto and Washington.

Gustafson played in Washington last season under Peter Laviolette.

He is a left shot defenseman and has 39 goals and 152 assists in 379 games, with an average of 19:06 and a plus-one rating. He has 394 career blocked shots and 363 hits in his career and was credited with 277 giveaways and 119 takeaways.

He has 55 career powerplay points.

Rangers sign Nick Bonino to a one-year deal

The Rangers have signed center Nick Bonino to a one-year deal at $800,000. (TSN)

Bonino, 35, is from Hartford, CT and last season he played in 62 games between San Jose and Pittsburgh.

He played under Peter Laviolette in Nashville for three seasons and had 47 goals and 48 assists in 219 games, with an average time on ice of 16:09 and faceoff win percentage of 52.8%.

He has won two Stanley Cups with Pittsburgh.

In his 823 game career over 14-years, Bonino has a career faceoff winning percentage of 49.9%. Prior to last season when he won 48.2% of his faceoffs, he had five straight seasons of over a 50% win percentage.
