Lias Andersson, Tony DeAngelo

DeAngelo and Andersson expected to be scratched against Edmonton

8:35PM: David Quinn explained the DeAngelo decision as (NYR):

“There are certain things that are just non-negotiable. He’s made a lot of progress and a lot of strides and we have all watched what he has done on the ice and he has made a lot of strides off the ice like all young players have to make. There are things that are non-negotiable and the other factor that comes into it is that we feel we have seven defensemen that can play and Freddy has been out for a while. I tell all of them that I am looking for reasons to take them out and he gave me a small reason to take him out. He’s made a lot of progress, had a really good year and he will be back soon.”

Andersson has played in two straight games after being scratched against Dallas last week. In those two games Andersson had one shot on goal and 8:57 against Detroit and 6:59 against the Devils.
