2020-21 Rangers

Brendan Lemieux and Libor Hajek back in the lineup

6:12PM: David Quinn spoke before the game and said (NYR):

  • On the lineup changes, “We are gonna put Lemieux and Libor back in, take Di Giuseppe out and Jack Johnson out. We feel we are starting to get some depth back, guys are gonna be in and out of the lineup. Libor had been playing some pretty good hockey, a little bit of down-tick in his play, so we gave him a night off, now back in. Jack did a good job, he’s still fighting through the injury he had earlier in the season, he’s doing a really good job when he’s in there. Lemieux has had a good year, just thought it was time to give him a breather and get him back in tonight.”

  • On Brendan Lemieux, “Lemieux just has to be more consistent. He has good shifts within a game, his consistency is something he has to improve on, he knows that we’ve had talks, we had a good talk the other day. It’s just a consistency aspect of it, he knows what his game is, he has to play physical consistently, up and down north game and if he does that he will be able to contribute offensively. That is something he is still finding and he understands that.”
  • On Starting Georgiev, “to me, he’s played a lot of good hockey for us and I wanted to get him back in there.”
  • On Vitali Kravtsov, “I haven’t watched much of him this year, we certainly know that he continues to improve and play at a high level and those things will be addressed by Jeff and Chris. Today, he just got knocked out and obviously we’ve had conversations about if his season did end, when he would come over here and there is work to be done to get him over here and into our organization.”

5:55PM: Libor Hajek and Brendan Lemieux will return to the Rangers lineup tonight against Boston. (NYR)
