The NHL has announced that Adam Fox is not a finalist for the Norris Trophy.
Cale Makar, Roman Josi and Victor Hedman are the three finalists.
Fox, last year’s Norris winner, had 11 goals and 63 assists in 78 games this season.
His 74 points were fourth for defensemen, behind Josi, Makar and Hedman, and his 63 assists was third for defensemen behind Josi and Hedman.
He was 20th overall in ice time for defensemen.
Adam Rotter: This isn’t all that surprising. Makar has seemed destined to win the Norris since finishing second to Fox last year, Josi flirted with the first 100 point season for a defenseman sine Brian Leetch 30 years ago and Hedman is just a phenomenal player. My guess is that when the voting is released that Fox will be fourth or fifth on the list.
