Stats:

Adam Rotter:
- This was the second day in a row where the Rangers were playing a team that desperately needed the game and it was the second time that the Rangers were the better team and looked like the one that was battling for a playoff spot.
- After being one of the lone bright spots last season, Will Cuylle has had a fine season but he hasn’t taken a noticeable step forward toward being someone the Rangers can count on as a top-six forward going forward. He broke a long goalless streak against Montreal and his Hat-Trick tonight puts him at 20 for the second straight season. He’s an extremely valuable as a physical, tough, 20-goal power forward but is that a third liner or is there still another level for him where he can become a consistent top-six forward.
- The Rangers finish up their home schedule on Wednesday against the Sabres.
